Music career

Redman was born in Newark, New Jersey.Durng his youth he grew up in Brick New Jersey, were he lived in Waterside Gardens and attended Brick High. In 1992 Redman released his debut album, Whut? Thee Album, which All Music Guide noted for blending "reggae and funk influences" with a "terse, though fluid rap style".[1] The album peaked at number forty-nine on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. He was named "Rap Artist of the Year" by The Source. Redman followed up with his 1994 album, Dare Iz a Darkside. The first single, "Rockafella," samples Leon Haywood's "I Want'a Do Something Freaky to You" and George Clinton's "Flashlight," two of the most sampled songs in hip hop.[2]
In December 1996, Redman released Muddy Waters. Rolling Stone wrote that he provides "choppy, offbeat verses and memorable call-and-response choruses" with a "stripped down but tight" production from producer Erick Sermon.[3] All Music Guide noted that lyrically, Redman is "as strong as ever" with his "clever metaphors and loose, elastic rhyme flows".[4] The album solidified his reputation as one of the most consistent rappers of the 1990s.
Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard hitting beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Niño, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!.
Redman had his best-known international hit with Christina Aguilera, when he was featured on her 2002 single "Dirrty". Around this time he was also featured on a popular remix of Pink's track Get This Party Started. Since the release of Malpractice, he has kept his fans happy by independently releasing the Ill At Will mixtapes, which feature various members of his Gilla House crew, including Saukrates and Icarus. Other members under Redman's Gilla House imprint include Ready Roc, E3, Runt Dog, and Melanie. Under his birthname, Reggie Noble, Redman has done production for himself, many of his crew members, and even Shaquille O'Neal on his 'Shaq-Fu: Da Return' album.
In March 2007, Redman released Red Gone Wild. He says that the reason for the long wait to drop the album is because of the fast-changing pace of Hip Hop on his MySpace interview

After 30 games of largely breathless, unpredictable and exciting football, it was almost a question of expecting the unexpected in the final of UEFA EURO 2008™. Not only were Luis Aragonés's team playing with freedom and confidence, but also with a consistency that set them apart from their rivals. In turn the likes of David Villa, Iker Casillas, Marcos Senna and Cesc Fàbregas contributed match-winning displays. Tonight it was Fernando Torres who stepped up.

Vienna Sunday June 29th will go down in one of these countries history as the year they famously won the European Cup, Spain eased through their semi final against Russia and Cesc Fabregas had an outstanding game after coming on early for David Villa, the Spaniard will be vying for a start after being used for a sub in Spain’s last 3 games.

Germany have not been anything special this tournament and their team is not rich in talent like in previous finals, but what this team lacks in ability it makes up for in efficiency, work rate & team work. Germany had a tougher time of it in their semi final, infact Germany have looked dodgy all tournament except in the first game against Poland, yet here they are, i wonder how good they will be when they really start to play?

Barack Obama is a Stevie Wonder geek. In the Democratic presidential candidate’s new interview with Rolling Stone editor-in-chief Jann S. Wenner, Obama waxed rhapsodic about his favorite artists, many of whom — Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jay-Z — have shown him love with endorsements.
“If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder,” says Obama, who grew up on Seventies R&B and rock staples including Earth, Wind and Fire, Elton John and the Rolling Stones. “When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness’ First Finale and Innervisions, and then Songs in the Key of Life. Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we’ve ever seen.”
Wonder shares room on Obama’s iPod with “everything from Howlin’ Wolf to Yo-Yo Ma to Sheryl Crow,” he says. “And I have probably 30 Dylan songs on my iPod.” Though he’s partial to 1975’s Blood on the Tracks, “Maggie’s Farm” is “one of my favorites during the political season,” says Obama. “It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric.”
While his musical tastes tend towards the old-school, Obama is in touch with today’s creative top dogs: He’s talked policy with Ludacris, referenced Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” (with a brushing motion in response to Hillary Clinton-hurled criticisms) in a campaign speech, and joined acts ranging from Usher to Will.i.am at rallies. “Every time I talk to Jay-Z, who is a brilliant talent and a good guy, I enjoy how he thinks,” says Obama, who believes that the recent political galvanization of America’s youth will soon be reflected in music. “He’s serious and he cares about his art,” he adds. “That’s somebody who is going to start branching out and can help shape attitudes in a real positive way.”

The lives of homeless people are changed forever through an international soccer competition. This film follows six players as they set off for Cape Town, South Africa to play in the Homeless World Cup.





In the summer of 2006, while the football world's attention was focused on Germany, thousands of players around the globe were training hard and competing to be part of another World Cup ... The Homeless World Cup.
It had been a wild idea by a Scot and an Austrian -- to give homeless people a chance to change their lives through an international street soccer competition.
Five years later, the annual Homeless World Cup had become an internationally recognized sports competition.
500 homeless players from 48 nations would ultimately be selected to represent their country in Cape Town, South Africa - coming from such disparate parts of the world as war torn Afghanistan, the slums of Kenya, the drug rehab clinics of Dublin, Ireland, the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina, the overflowing public shelters of Madrid, Spain, and the unforgiving city of St. Petersburg, Russia, where the homeless have no rights or identity.
Win or lose, for these players it would be the journey of a lifetime.

Recording career

In 1995, the group released their debut single "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Shameless", charting on the Billboard Hot 100. The release landed them a record deal with Uptown Records. The group contributed a single to the Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack, titled "Renee". The song became a major hit, breaking into the Top 40 on the Hot 100 chart. The single also reached Gold status in 1996. On June 4, 1996, they released their debut album Legal Drug Money. The work was highly acclaimed, and the album featured five Billboard Hot 100 hits, including their past singles "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Shameless", "Renee", as well as "Music Makes Me High", "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" and "Get Up". The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in late 1996. Their second album, Love, Peace & Nappiness, was released on June 17, 1997 on Uptown/Universal Records. It featured another Hot 100 hit single, "Me & My Crazy World". One of the most famous songs on the album was the posse-cut "Beasts From The East", featuring A+, Redman and Canibus. The album wasn't as acclaimed as their debut, but fared well commercially, reaching Gold status in late 1997.

On the night of March 28, 1999, at a birthday party for Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah was shot in the head while exiting the Sheraton Hotel in Queens. Tah was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:20 am, at the age of 27. The getaway driver, Raheem Fletcher, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for Manslaughter. In 2001, Kelvin Jones pleaded guilty to the murder. The three remaining group members finished their third album LB IV Life, released in September 1999. The effort fell short critically and commercially, failing to provide any Hot 100 hits, and failing to reach Gold status. The three split-up after the release, and lead MC Mr. Cheeks began a solo career. He released his first solo effort John P. Kelly in 2001, which featured the smash hit "Lights, Camera, Action!". The album also featured a heartfelt tribute song to Freaky Tah, titled "Till We Meet Again", featuring Bob Marley's son Stephen. Cheeks released another album in 2003, titled Back Again!, then followed in 2004 with Ladies & Ghettomen. On January 16, 2004, DJ Spigg Nice was tried and convicted of multiple bank robberies in New Jersey and was sentenced to 37 years in prison.[1] The group released a compilation album Lost Boyz Forever in 2005, featuring past hits and previously unreleased material.

'Kung Fu Panda' Masters Box Office.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Jack Black's Po the panda outgunned Adam Sandler's Zo the hairdresser.
Black's cartoon comedy "Kung Fu Panda" pulled in $60 million in ticket sales to debut as the weekend's No. 1 movie, while Sandler's salon romp "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" opened in second place with $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The movies combined to carry Hollywood to a big weekend. The top 12 films took in $172.4 million, up 32 percent from the same weekend last year when "Ocean's Thirteen" led with a $36.1 million opening.
DreamWorks Animation's "Panda" and Sony's "Zohan" bumped off the previous weekend's leader, the Warner Bros. chick flick "Sex and the City," which slipped to fourth place with $21.3 million.

After the great performance last season, and the superb performance this season, I can’t see any player close to be “The Best Player In The World” other than the 22-year-old winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
Whether you like it or not, no one can hate watching him playing!…..actually there`re…..The opponent Team and Fans!
Maybe you`ll say that he`s too young to be the best, but actually this is an advantage! Being relatively young with such potential and continuing like that to the end of the season, or even to the end of the UEFA Champions League can ensure the Award to him!
Some people said that he`s a selfish player, and maybe he was!, but now I see that he learned a lot under the command of Sir Alex Ferguson and he`s a great addition to Man UTD. Team.
I like to see him play in Real Madrid(Why?) but also I don’t know if they can exploit his potential and not bury him like other stars!

CASA VERDE: Sunset’s Green Dream Home in San Francisco

Situated a block away from Garfield Park, Casa Verde contributes a shining example of green architecture to San Francisco’s vibrant Mission neighborhood. Designed by John Lum Architecture and constructed by Meridian Builders and Developers, the infill is an exceptional renovation of an existing structure that showcases the state of the art in sustainable design.
Upon entering the foyer of Casa Verde we were greeted by the house’s patio and spa, which lead into the building’s beautiful courtyard via a sliding set of doors. Despite the brisk weather and the foyer’s open air construction, the interior was pleasantly toasty thanks to the building’s solar-thermal heating system and radiant floors.The exterior walkways all feature permeable paving, a boon considering San Francisco’s temperamental rainy season and the Mission’s ancient state as a marshland. The courtyard is a peaceful place, silent save for the trickle of its fountain and the soft thrum of a wind turbine - a rarity in inner city spaces. It’s one of the few turbines that been cleared for construction in San Francisco as part of provisional study to test the efficiency of wind-power in the bay area. The turbine generates from 1.6 to 1.9 KW of electricity which is boosted by 5KW from a set of solar panels to provide for all of the 3,700 sq foot home’s energy needs. Should windspeeds increase above 60mph the turbine will lock up to prevent a breakdown, and our guide, Chris, allayed our avian fears, stating that not a single bird injury has happened since construction was finished last Fall.
